a MASSIVE onsite prayer venture...

Progress Report

“The Lord connected us with a young Turkish man who knew that he had some Christians in his ancestry, but he didn’t know much about what they believed, so he started asking us questions. This resulted in the opportunity arising for him to be presented with his very first New Testament in his own language.
“He was very touched by the whole conversation and by receiving his first Scripture and asked if someone would be able to come back and talk to him about these spiritual things.”

“We came as strangers, but we were welcomed and treated as honored guests.”

Open Hearts
“The Lord opened the hearts of one family to invite us to stay at their
home. While there, we shared that we were followers of Jesus and
we prayed for the family.”

Seekers
“A young man quietly shared with one team member that one of his parents was a follower of Jesus - but he himself
hadn't yet made up his mind.”

The Whole Church
“Our team was made up of a Brazilian, a
Romanian and a couple from the States. We prayer walked lots of the side streets of the small town we visited.”

The Lord Provides
“We spent the first several hours looking for housing. Before long, it seemed like the whole town was competing to see who could provide the most hospitality…”

“To our amazement we were welcomed on the street by a local mosque leader. This dear man genuinely took our group under his wing, By the second day, he knew without a doubt that our group wanted to pray for the people of his city, and he even began pointing out particular people that he wanted us to pray for – knowing that we were praying in Jesus name."

“God’s Guests”

“We spent most of 4 days in our assigned ‘prayer city.’ In the model of Luke 10, we showed up in town with no plans of where to stay, no car, and no contacts. Would you believe the first people we met when we arrived ended up being our main hosts?
Our first evening meal was provided by the local mosque leader who said we were ‘God's guests!’ We felt as if the entire town received us and showed
us uninhibited hospitality in every way. Everyone we met went out of their way to be gracious and welcoming to us. Since our visit, others have visited that town and had a Bible Study with 2 of the
potential ‘people of peace’ the Lord led us to.”
